I'm back (and deloused)
Dear Anonymous (from last thread),
We are not, in fact, on a drinking/sex/gambling/heroin binge (Although I can think of worse rumors).
I can't speak for everyone on staff, but for me blogging the Democratic Primary was like running an Iron Man covered head-to-toe in bird-mites. I basically collapsed somewhere near the finish and am just now getting up and brushing myself off, checking to make sure all my extremities are intact.
They are.
As you can see from the look of the site, we've revamped things quite a bit. So to answer your question, more directly... It's the quiet before the storm. The Chief Source is getting primed for another round of serious horn-locking. Expect more posts from more contributors, more policy discussion and horse race coverage, a bit of self-promotion and yes, some more cool t-shirts. It all starts today as we gear up for a general which is bound to be a squeaker.

But before we turn and look forward towards the promise of a blue Ohio, let's look back, glance back over our shoulder, to see just how deep and dark the woods were from which the Democratic Party has finally emerged...

the drawing of a louse.
it's like one of those tests where you can ask ppl what they see.
at first, i saw the entire body of the louse.
then when i looked at it differently i a close up frontal of an insect head.
then i looked at it again, and the inner vertical area that divided the length of the body (or head), i see the image of something standing with its arms behind its back, and it has the head of a bird.
so tell me doc...am i crazy???????

Thank God Bob is back. Finally this website did something intelligent with its staff. Now all they need to do is get rid of Annie and everything will be great, unless we love hearing stories about dog parks and why she still thinks Hillary is the better choice.

I'm hesitant to touch the New Yorker cover because I don't agree with their approach. I don't think what they are doing helps. However, it is going to be a top headline so it sort of has to be discussed.

how many times has he shown the picture of obama in the traditional ethiopian(?) garb and made a comment about it as if it were something to worry about.
and, for that matter, how many times has he called obama a secret muslim?
people are going to get it or not get it, but how much, if any, good is it going to do to sanitize the media of satire because it might be taken as serious? that's why it's called "satire".
sure, this might be taken seriously and it might do some harm. i have no way of knowing.
but on the other hand, maybe it will light that bulb in someone's head that these portrayls of obama and his wife really are ridiculous.

It's got people who know him saying he's anything BUT a newbe politcian. It talks about all the people BHO has thrown under the bus. Don't miss the part where Obama and the-now-convicted Tony Rezko spend lots of time hanging out. Or the part detailing Obama's response to 9/11, where he says:
Most often, though, [terrorism] grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.
Wow. Just...wow. Did someone forget to tell that to the Saudi's who actually flew the planes on 9/11. The ones from wealthy families?

i don't know if you included me in your liberals on this site comment, but i don't believe it is a vast right wing conspiracy that is going to smear obama with fear. on the other hand, if you did include me i guess it doesn't matter. :)
what i fear is ging to happen (and has happened to some extent already) is that feelings within ppl that they did or did not know were there are going to bubble to the surface. i have said this already in a post some months ago.
go to snopes and search obama muslim. take a gander at the spam email that are circulated and to a large extent false. spam isn't anything new, i grant you.
i haven't received any of them, but my wife has. she replied back to everyone with a link discussing the veracity of the claims. she got a response from the sender thanking her for taking the time to research the email.
all of 5 minutes it took her. why didn't the sender do this?
i don't believe this is the work of a vast right wing conspiracy.

I don't know what hurts more .. People dressing up cartoons as Muslims and they become terrorists or sheer lack of compassion for the rest of the Muslims who really don't weant any violence. In fact when you do that even the so-called liberal muslims also fell ashamed. Honestly I love to talk to the Liberal Muslim eggheads when things of this sort happen.
The Post's cover was brilliant. It was everything those against Obama paint him as. I simply cannot see who would have problems with this, sans the politically correct crowd.
