ESPECIALLY because I thought his "endorsement" of Obama was lame and uninspired. Hillary had conceded over a week earlier and everyone was on board....man, what a conviction that he came on board!
I can tell that Bob seems as interested in this as I am. I am working on another big breakdown. And here is a darkhorse that would work: Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia.
He was the first national figure to endorse Obama....last year....that shows Kaine really believes in what an Obama Admin can do, and that abililty to work together will be very important. A lot of these other names lack that same quality.
I can't imagine that anyone who held that position for eight years would really want to do it again. I had a history teacher whose grandfather was VP and other than some nice visits to interesting places it was a total snooze.
I think that this quote nicely sums up the role of VP “Once there were two brothers: one ran away to sea, the other was elected Vice-President - and nothing was ever heard from either of them again.” -Thomas R Marshall (1913-1921, under Woodrow Wilson
When selecting a VP you need to look at not only who can bring you votes but who is young enough to possibly succeed you when your two terms are up (unless you plan on switching VPs between terms which brings a different strategy into play).

No offense to Gore fans. But this is good news. I doubt he was ever on the short-short list, but I'm still breathing a sigh of relief.
Edwards is still in the running and has said so.
I also think Rendell is still in it, despite what he has said.
As far as Gore, I agree with you Bob.

I like Kaine. Virginia is already in play, and with Kaine on the ticket it will be the one-two punch Obama needs to win the state.
Bloomberg is also still looking really good.
For those of you that think Bloomberg has a real shot, the bookies in the UK are still offering 33-to-1 odds. I'd put some money down.

Gore's not going to be VP? This is news? I told you already, he wouldn't dare let his financials be released.

Chandra,
Was it Charles Dawes???
I agree with everyone, especially Chandra. There is no change in brining back a former Vice President.
