Republicans: Pro-Welfare Whores
12 comments on this postEditor's Note: I was just reading an article over at Politics.Ohio.com from conservative friend Ben Keeler, and part of it criticized the windfall profits tax being proposed on the oil companies. I started typing a long comment, and realized I should probably just make this a whole post. So here are my thoughts....
I will agree that a windfall profits tax may not be the best approach. Instead, I think the winning solution (and one that the Dems will eventually adopt) is to quit subsidizing the oil companies! A windfall profits tax will allow the Haneeler Republicans to make their annoying argument about how all Dems do is raise taxes (which is not true...and when they do, it has worked).
So instead, lets jam an argument back up the throats of these oil goons. Lets call them what they are: WELFARE WHORES. It worked for Ronald Reagan (see: attacks on Welfare Queen from Chicago), so it can work for Democrats. The oil industry receives upwards of $50 billion a year in corporate welfare (via subsidies). The Republicans argued against a lady in the Cadillac getting a welfare check, so I am sure Hanneeler would have to be against the most profitable companies in the history of man receiving welfare checks.
So I do hope Obama drops the call for a windfall profits tax and instead calls for an end to Welfare Whores....or maybe Welfare Pimps....or to play right off of Reagan, how about Welfare Kings!

Speaking of windfalls, lets prepare for the one about to ensue for Chuck using the words whore and pimp.
Chuck makes fun of our one friend for being bi-polar with girls. He is bi-polar with politics. One minute he is complaining at name calling, the next minute he is busy calling people names.
I am not namecalling in the sense i complain about. i guess it is hypocritical to an extent. but i don't like personal attacks unrelated to the topic. and here, i am calling the beneficiaries of this pimps/etc, meaning i am calling the oil millionaires names....i doubt they are reading this site.
further, here i am using names for a dramatic purpose to draw attention to what i perceive as hypocrisy in the GOP agenda.
(why do i feel the need to continually defend myself ?.....well, i think i know that person above anyway and i think he was just messing with me....all this anonymous stuff is making me lose my mind)

It's quite sad that America would rather give oil companies subsidies and tax breaks but when you try to give a single mother a break you're instantly labeled as a crazy liberal who is trying to turn this country in Canada. Corporations run this country.
How can we watch any balanced news program when the news channels get all their profits from advertising from big corporations? I remember when Sicko had just came out and some bull shit doctor slash reporter(i think his name was Gupta) made this big report about how the movie was filled with false hoods and then right after they interviewed Moore. Moore ripped them apart when he said how can anyone ever believe what they say about his movie because the current portion of the programming was sponsored by (name some random drug or drug company). He then went on with all the facts and so on.
Point being, our society is over run by corporations and we're all going to hell in all seriousness.
