Strickland Does T.V. Spot For Padrutt
The City of Green is located just south of Akron and is a rapidly growing suburb with new homes and good schools. Democrat Councilman Andy Padrutt is running to be the next Mayor of the City of Green. It is great to see Strickland agreeing to do this 30 second spot and help down ticket candidates who are the future of the party in Ohio. The Chief Source staff wishes the best of luck to Andy and his campaign in these final weeks of the campaign.

I haven't met Padrutt personally, but I saw him speak last Friday night. He seems like a good guy. I'm hoping some of our readers might know some more about this race.
Good luck to the people of Green if they want to turn their city over to a 27 year old who has been arrested 11 times since 2000 who is backed by Gov Strickland.
I dont live in Green, so I dont care what they do - doesnt affect me. If I did, I would probably want someone more qualified to be the mayor of my growing city.

I've never met Padrutt either. But I know that he couldn't get his act together as President of the SC Young Dems (hence me not being a member) so I'm really not impressed. Petty? Yeah, but these little things can paint a bigger picture.
Several of my friends from The University of Akron are either working or volunteering for his campaign. I also have talked with a few people who live in Green who say they are going to vote for him because they think he will do a good job. I will admit though that my information is largely word of mouth. I haven't seen any reason not to support the guy and Strickland's endorsement says a lot about the candidate and the strength of their campaign organization.

This is one reason I am kind of optimistic about 2008. Bush wont be on the ballot and people like Mencken will keep using him as an example. Bush got his DUI in the late 70s I think.....he ran for President in 2000. Cheney's 2md DUI was what, 1963 or something? Thats recent. Ben, I can see how Republicans would be looking for kind of a fresh start politically in 2008. I'm always interested to listen to Republican candidates support the President, but also talk about 2008 as a change election.
