President Bush should make public all photos and records of his meetings with Jack Abramoff. Read more on the numbers illustrated in this post at The American Prospect online. Original photo.

Some things to remember:

Even though William Jefferson Clinton was president in the 1990's, the House and Senate have had Republican majorities since 1994.

This graph only tracks Native American Tribe Money and not all Abramoff money.

If you want to get to the bottom of any issue, follow the money.

Barely related, but...
Man did we f*ck the Indians.
Why have I never heard the word "genocide" used with regards to Native Americans?
Good luck to Bolivia which just elected its first native president EVER.
Could you imagine a Native American U.S. President? [uncontrollable laughter]

Kyle, EXCELLENT graphic.
Bob, I like to use the term genocide with the Indians. I also like to take it a step further (when I am in an extra-pissed off mood), and say that our continued glorification of land ownership in this country is spitting on the graves of those slaughtered indians.
but that's me. why don't we hear about it in a mainstream way? clearly, because we, as the US are infallible.....or at least our history books and media demand us to say so

Also, back to Kyle:
Abramoff has given NO MONEY TO ANY DEMOCRATS, EVER.

This crook is a lifelong Republican, was head of the College Republicans, and gave over $100,000 to Bush in 2004.
How the hell Republicans are claiming this bi-partisan is beyond me.

Bob...if you haven't heard "genocide" linked to what the white man did to the Native Americans you're not listening hard enough. I suggest picking up a book by Howard Zinn called "A People's History of the United States." No doubt you will love it.

PS: I don't know what is so stunning about the numbers in your graphic. Bush was elected president in 2000...it makes a lot of sense that a Republican Lobbyist has done better since 2000 than he has in the 90s. Duuuuuh.

PPS: Bolivia is F*CKED with that new President. He's following in Chavez's footsteps trying to be the next Castro. Mark my words. It will get a lot worse before it's better in Bolivia.

It can get worse for Bolivia?

During the Clinton era, giving was equal.
Under the Bush era, the disparity has almost tripled.
Go ahead and keep believing that is coincidence, especially in light of the deeds of leading Republican scumbags like Abramoff and Ralph Reed.
Sure.

Didn't I just say it wasn't a coincidence? Jeez.

i guess you didn't say it was a coincidenc. sorry.
i guess you are admitting Republicans are on the take, then. because when Dems were in more control, their money from Indian Tribes were not so bloated.

Consider: it is a fact that many of the schemes by Abramoff and Ralph Reed involved telling Tribes, "we'll get you certain regulations passed, just give us money." Then they would tell opposing Tribes the very same thing, despite the fact the 2 objectives were in direct conflict.
So many of those tribes gave money increased money to the GOP (hence the graphic), despite the fact that the Republican lawmakers KNEW they could not deliver on their promises.

Sorry again. You are right, that certainly isn't a coincidence. Its criminal fraud. And many members of the GOP were involved.

And before you, or anyone, tries to tell me it wasn't like that and Abrahoff was just a bad apple, just wait. He is not the only one going down.
