An Indictment!
No, not Scooter Libby or Karl Rove - that announcement comes tomorrow. Not Dick Cheney - that is going to take a while, after the Libby/Rove fallout.
Not Tom Delay - his indictment total remains at two.
Not Bill Frist - he is still being investigated for stock fraud.
Not Ralph Reed - he is still being investigated for a bunch of crap.
Not Jack Abramoff - he is eventually going down for something.
Not Duke Cunningham, Robert Ney, or other Republican congressmen - yet.
Today's criminal indictment goes to Tom Noe. The huge Republican fundraiser/thief illegally donated $105,000 President Bush's re-election campaign (which Bush used) and to Ohio Governor Bob Taft. More interesting is how Noe is a coin dealer - the very coin dealer at the head of Ohio's botched $50 million coin investment for the state workers' compensation fund (Coingate, if you will).
Okay, so the Noe indictment is not a surprise, nor is it nearly as exciting as tomorrow's supposed big announcement. Yet, still, another example of the ongoing Republican corruption.

I heard on NPR today that Noe is looking at 5-10 years in prison. This investigation will be playing out while an open seat race for Governor is going on in Ohio. No Republican from the Taft administration will be clean of Noe dirty money.
Mike Coleman for Governor.
What is amazing to me is that the state Republicans still credibility.
I heard they are going hard after stopping those election reform bills.....if people listen to the worst group of legislators in history (based on the taft poll numbers) there is really no hope.
Also, Kyle, I looked into those reform bills and I am impressed. Love the redistricting thing. I will make calls or something, if you are doing anything for the issues.
Do you think Coleman has a good chance?, He controls a voting block in Franklin County that votes democratic anyways. As for Reform issue two, making it easier to get absentee ballots, I have a problem with it because it removes a layer of protection from voter fraud. I don't want any place in Ohio turning into a Boss Daly like Chicago. I understand the support of it and the altruistic motives behind it but it sacrifices too much
I do think Coleman has a great chance. He is the only candidate I receive emails from regularly. He includes updates on what his campaign is doing and alot of it is true grass roots politics like local events, radio call in shows, and parades. Ohio is a big place and Coleman isn't well known outside of Columbus.
I also used to work for a Columbus City Council member a few years back and got to see a fair amount of Coleman. My impression was he is a personable, likeable, funny, and down to earth guy. He is also an excellent public speaker. I think he is the best candidate for governor we have had in a while.
As for today...
On a scale of 1-10
1 – No indictments
4 – Just Libby
6 – Libby and a few in the VP office
8 - Libby and surprises without Rove
10 – Anything involving Rove
Nonsense on the voter fraud issue.
Oregon has MANDATORY voting by mail, and they have the highest turnout, with no real suggestions of serious problems.
The real fraud is that people are intentionally forced to wait hours in line to vote.
Coleman great
I agree with anything that increases peoples opportunity to vote (legally).
